Candidate research prioritizes candidate statements (including on social media when applicable), voting record when possible, and issues highlighted on the candidate’s website.

There are times that candidates make contradictory statements or cast votes that do not align with their stated position. This could be an indication of evolving opinion, a misstatement, an intentional difference between stated policy belief and truly held policy belief, or any number of other circumstances. When candidates make a clear indication, this will be noted.

Candidates cannot pay for favorable coverage.
